Thought Thursday #2 – Dad vs Father?

Thank You, to everyone who took part in the first Thought Thursday!

How Safe Is Your Blog is my most viewed post so far!

Thought Thursday is a time to reflect on my thoughts and to hopefully make others think too!

For this Thought Thursday something has actually come up and it has me thinking if any other DADS feel the way I do.

We have all heard this saying,

“Any man can be a father, but it takes a special sperson to be a dad”

Right?

I have no idea where it came from. I heard it a few years ago and more recently came up and I suppose it holds some merit because of the amount of “dad” usernames vs “father” usernames if you get my point there. There just seems to be a mass amount of “DAD” related named brands, usernames, companies, etc. As if they are trying to get just this message across.

SO, my views on this topic are this.

A daddy isn’t defined as the man who makes the child, but rather a man who extends his hands and time to help raise the child but also gives his heart and time to help raise that child! BLOOD doesn’t always make you a DADDY. Being a DADDY comes from the heart!

…any fool can make a baby, it takes a MAN to raise a child!

Please share your thoughts on this Thursday!

Thank You for reading!

  2. I agree, blood doesn’t make a dad- the time, effort, and energy are what makes a real dad. #ThatFridayLinky

  3. This resonates totally and utterly with me as my little boys ‘father’ and ‘daddy ‘s not his biological maker! You are totally right that anyone can create life… but it takes so so much more to ‘parent’ a child and be a positive role model and ‘Dad’. <3 #thatfridaylinky

Agree. Although I’d like to think one day that it’s not special to be a ‘daddy’, because every father is expected to be one
